A Debate: “Placing Audiences at the Centre – What does it mean? – 4 different institutions, many questions”
By Alessandra Gariboldi and Anne Torregiani, moderators.
Representatives of LU.CA Theatre, São Luiz Theatre, Carpintarias S. Lázaro (organisations visited in the morning) will take part in an open conversation to explore how they are interpreting their role into the cultural participation arena. This will be an opportunity for participants to have an overview of the oganisations that participants couldn’t visit in the morning. We will look into these case studies through the lenses of ADESTE+, comparing motivations, tools, processes and implications of their different approaches to Audience Development.

Carpintarias S Lázaro
A new Contemporary arts centre in the city of Lisbon.
Our goal is to be complementary to the existing offer of the already existing cultural spaces in the city of Lisbon – what makes as different, is, foremost, the fundamental principle of presenting a program with cross-overs between the diverse cultural areas, with a perspective of inspiration and even contamination, not only between different areas (that are normally presented separately in theatre / music halls or exhibition spaces), but thus, also bringing together the diverse publics that normally circulate separately in their own pre-determined circuits; Importance of fostering knowledge linked to innovation and creativity, connecting the cultural program to/with activities that strive for a more sustainable development of our society; activities as e.g. debates, summits, hackathons or workshops.
